8 Picture Books You Don't Have To Be A Kid To Love

NPR - Here at NPR Books, we may be grown-ups, but every now and then we still enjoy channeling our inner 7-year-olds. And this week, we have the perfect excuse: Monday's Randolph Caldecott Medal announcement for picture book artistry. We've tried (and failed) to predict winners in the past, but right or wrong, we still like looking at pretty picture books and wildly speculating about what could win.

What the Heck Is Project-Based Learning?

Edutopia - You know the hardest thing about teaching with project-based learning? Explaining it to someone. It seems to me that whenever I asked someone the definition of PBL, the description was always so complicated that my eyes would begin to glaze over immediately. So to help you in your own musings, I've devised an elevator speech to help you clearly see what's it all about.

Putin Said to Shrink Inner Circle as Hawks Beat Billionaires

Bloomberg - Vladimir Putin isn't just angering leaders from Berlin to Washington. He's irking some of his richest friends, too, by snubbing their pleas to end the conflict in Ukraine and ostracizing all but a handful of hardliners.

How Does the Brain Learn Best? Smart Studying Strategies | MindShift

If you sit down to study a load of material, "of course you're not going to remember most of it the next day," Carey said. You do have to go back and build your knowledge. "But it's not that you don't remember well, or you're not a good learner. It's that forgetting is a critical part of learning."

Review and practice commas with introductory phrases and clauses and apostrophes to show possession.
