2015 Profile in Courage Essay Contest Submission Deadline is January 5, 2015

 

Contest Topic & Guidelines: In 1,000 words or less, describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1956. Essays must be at least 700 words long, but no more than 1,000 words.

 

$10,000 first-place prize and an expense-paid trip to Boston with family and nominating teacher. Address Common Core and national standards in literacy and social studies with a Pulitzer Prize winning mentor text. Unique opportunity to integrate history, writing, and current events.
